La danseuse qui avait 101 ans !
101 years old and dancing !
C'est avec un air de violon et des fleurs que Pauline Lavigne a été accueillie le
2 juillet,
dans le salon de la Résidence le Monastère.À l'occasion de son 101e
anniversaire,les membres de la famille et des amis
de la nouvelle centenaire ont
entamé la chanson préferée de son ancien mari,"Let me call you sweetheart".
trois des
membres les plus proches de sa parenté, son fils René Gauvreau, sa brue
Verena, et sa petite-fille Lynn se sont relayés
pour danser avec elle pendant la
chanson. L'aîné de Mme Lavigne, Lucien, est décédé en avril 2003, avant son
100e anniversaire.
Mme
Lavigne qui demeure dans la Résidence depuis son ouverture en 1999,
est la plus vieille résidante du centre. Elle a reussi
a vaincre le cancer
lorsqu'elle avait 80 ans.

À noter qu'une autre résidante du centre, Jeanette Allen a aussi passé le cap de
100ans en juin
dernier.
Violin music and flowers greeted Pauline Lavigne as she arrived for her 101st birthday
celebration
at the Monastery seniors' residence, July 2.
Her family and fellow residents sang along to her deceased husband's favourite
tune
for her, "let me call you sweetheart".
Her three living relatives, son Rene Gauvreau, daughter-in-law Verena,
and
granddaughter Lynn (Lucien), took turns dancing with her to the music.
Her oldest son Lucien died in April 2003, just before
her hundredth birthday celebration.
Mrs. Lavigne is the oldest resident at the Monastery, and has lived there since it
opened in 1999.
She won a battle with skin cancer at the age of 80 years. Her family put together an album for her
100th
birthday, which can be seen on the internet at http://celebration100.tripod.com.
Fellow resident Jeanette Allen also reached the 100-year mark in June this year.
